How do the holidays always seem to flash by with a blink? My 16 days in Iowa are coming to an end, and the New Year's resolutions are filling the pages. This holiday season held surprises, laughs, visits and a couple emergency room trips with family and friends that have filled my heart with joy and thanks. I was blown away when my little brother gifted me a wine rack he made himself,  and my parents brought us all to tears when they surprised my sisters and I with two sets of their wedding china. For as long as I can remember we have (kind of jokingly, kind of not) fought over who will be in possession of the china in the future. And now each girl will someday be given enough china to finish a set of six! Couldn't have asked for a more meaningful gift! Check out more of my holiday pictures on Instagram!

2014 ended most enjoyably, and I can wholeheartedly say it was one of the best years yet. I fell deeply and madly in love with Seattle, lives were celebrated and remembered, trips were made, laughs were had, goals were set and achieved, a shop was started, custom orders were fulfilled, paper was covered  with watercolor, books were devoured and love was given without fear.

This year I took my love of watercolor and illustration to the next level and started to paint without an agenda, without expectations and without a reason. I have never been prouder of myself and the skills I have developed, and can't wait to see were my illustrations take me in 2015.

Cheers to another fabulous year!

  1. The pattern on the plate is very intricate and so delicate. Very impressive work!
