DV IN THE SKETCHBOOK | 12

Finally found a little time to watch a few things in my Netflix queue, and first up was Diana Vreeland: The Eye has to Travel. Okay, so I am a few years late on watching this, but I must say I was instantly hooked. Diana Vreeland is witty and passionate, reminding every girl that you can make your life into anything you want. Her exaggerated air and funny stories remind us all of ourselves, slipping white lies into our stories and daily routines to see it in a more exciting way. Diana Vreeland was the master of those stories and she encouraged everyone to use their imagination and flaws to make them unstoppable. She took the world head on with an expertise that is few and far between. I could spend all day quoting her, but here are a few of my favorites. (She really does say it best)…

"You gotta have style. It helps you get down the stairs. It helps you get up in the morning. It's a way of life. Without it you're nobody."

"I was always mad about clothes. You don't get born in Paris to forget about clothes for five minutes."

"Fashion must be the most intoxicating release from the banality of the world."

"We all need a splash of bad taste; no taste is what I am against."

"You don't have to be born beautiful to be wildly attractive."

"Exaggeration is my only reality."
